Terms of Sale for Nucs & Packages:
Package Bees and Nucs and the risk of loss of the package and queen it contains or nuc become the responsibility of the customer at the time of pick up. Package Bees are guaranteed to contain 3 or more pounds (unless otherwise specified in product description) of bees when the package is prepared and will not have more than one inch of dead bees (when spread evenly across the bottom of the package) upon customer pickup. Once a package of bees becomes the responsibility of the purchaser, there is no further responsibility of Hungry Bear Farms, as the package was inspected at the time of pickup and found to meet the requirements laid out above.
If you find an issue with your Nuc, Hungry Bear Farms must be notified within 7 calendar days of the issue. It is Hungry Bear Farms policy that any Nuc that an issue is found in, be returned to Hungry Bear Farms in the same manner in which the Nuc was provided to the purchaser within 3 calendar days of notifying Hungry Bear Farms of said issue. It will be at the sole discretion of Hungry Bear Farms on how to address any issue outside of the policy laid out above. You understand that Hungry Bear Farms cannot guarantee the successful establishment of the package bees or nucs or queens. You agree that you will not attempt to hold Hungry Bear Farms responsible for whatever may happen to your package or nuc or queen after it is delivered to you or for the survival or productivity of the hive that you may establish from the package or nuc.
Queens are guaranteed to be alive upon pick up but are not guaranteed to be successfully introduced to or will be accepted by your hive. Many factors influence queen introduction success, particularly the specific methods and apicultural techniques you employ when introducing a queen. You also agree that Hungry Bear Farms will not be responsible for queen survival in your hive, or for the condition or productivity of your hive after introduction. Queens and risk of their loss become the responsibility of the customer at the time of pick up.
Despite an unplanned direct release: success!

I fumbled with the JZBZ queen cage & queen flew out but down in hive. 11 days later I took a quick peak & lovely uncapped eggs are visible! Bees very industrious from the start & had their priorities correct. First package I have tried after 14 years of ups & downs.

Received a package last year. Packaging was very convenient and actually place them in a Top Bar Hive. Very calm and easy going compared to the Italian/Russian bees received in prior year, They(previous) are still very aggressive but the put out a good batch of honey. Looking forward to my package this year and they will also go into a Top Bar Hive.
