Note: Our Beginner 101 Beekeeping Classes for ONLINE CLASSES are scheduled below but our IN PERSON learning class has been cancelled due to the Covid-19 restrictions. Later class dates may be available but will depend on whether or not the restrictions are still in place.
About our Class:
Our Beginner Beekeeping Classes are taught by 2 Eastern Apiculture Society Master Beekeepers, Kimberly & Ben Carpenter and sometimes with guest speakers. Our classes are in depth and now online with power point presentations, videos and all the equipment for beekeeping that we'll be discussing. We do our best to go over everything we possibly can in the allotted time so that when you are done with the class you feel you are well equipped to start beekeeping on your own. Whether you're just starting out or haven't done kept bees in many years, this is the class for you. We not only go over how to get started but how to manage your hives your first year on into your second year.
Date & Time: Classes are from 6:30pm to 8:30pm on the following nights for group A classes and there are 6 total classes to attend instead of 1 full day in person class. Group B classes have 6:30pm to 8:30pm evening classes along with 3pm to 5pm Saturday classes. When Covid restrictions are lifted we will look into doing in person classes again.
*NOTE: Please choose either Group A or B for your class dates. Switching dates between groups is not possible. Thank you.

We've just completed the 4th of 6 online sessions.... the class is better than I could have imagined. The information is pitched at just the right level for newer beekeepers, and the instructor is very responsive to questions. I'm finding the slides of what is SUPPOSED to be going on in the hive vs what might be going wrong in the hive extremely useful.
enjoyed the Bees out of it...

My husband and I attended Beekeeping 101 to see if we were ready to become beekeepers. The class was VERY informative and covered a lot of material. This is a very complex topic that will take years to master, but we feel we've gained enough info to get started. Thanks for a great class!!
Lots of information

A great deal of information provided, easily understood. Not so overwhelming that I'm discouraged from keeping bees. Very good experience overall. Kim and Ben are extremely knowledgeable.
