 April 2011

As of April 7th, we've pulled all our 180 taps. Our woods that was once peppered with the site of white buckets is now bare and awaiting the greenness of spring. The season is done for us now that the weather has warmed up but the producers in the Adirondacks are still going strong as it is colder there. Clean up time has now begun. We'll have to separate all the buckets and lids along with the spiles and taps to be cleaned and dried. Then we'll pack everything away until next season.

March 2011

It's that time of year again. Maple season. We have put up 104 taps, followed by another 51 and just about finished out with another 25. 180 Grand total. All buckets.

Each time we collected the sap it took us around 3 hours to set up our equipment and empty all the buckets into our 55 gallon holding tanks. With our 4 gallon buckets some days they would be overflowing and others they would be 1/4 to 1/2 full depending on how the sap ran and the size of the tree. Either way we got a workout trudging up and down our hill in the snow.

Maple Season 2011

Its that time of year. Maple season. We have put up 104 taps, followed by another 51 and just about finished out with another 25. 180 Grand total. All buckets. It takes about 3 hours to collect all the buckets. However we are adapting new tools to help us collect...

The weather has been good so far and we are expecting some strong sap runs later this week (3/7/11).

We are hoping to have a variety of Maple products to offer this year. Different sizes & grades of Syrup as well as some Maple Candies and other products. We'll have a full list available soon once the season picks up. Please keep checking back!
